Doona Cover
Project: Doona cover for my girl
I bought the length of dog fabric chosen by my daughter and sewed a sheet along each edge to make a doona cover. I used the offcuts to make a matching pillow case.

Peg Fairies
Project: Make fairies using dolly pegs
These are the kids' versions of Tinkerbell and Terence. They chose the colours and decorated the wings. I cut and glued. They stuck. The fairies are hung above their beds with the stars.

Owl Mobile
Project: Owl Mobile
This is a present for a soon-to-be-here baby. Her room is pink and green so I stuck with the colours for this mobile. I wanted something different from the usual cross that most mobiles are. The owls are made from felt with patterned bellies. The stick is from the garden, sanded and lacquered.

Hanging Planes
Pattern: My Design
To be hung in kids' rooms, each plane is on its own ribbon so they can be hung close together or scattered apart, like the stars I made for my kids' bedroom.

Cot Danglies
Pattern: My Design
These danglies are to be hung on the kids' cots. They are each a different shape, have a different texture so they are interesting to touch and are filled with wadding. I sewed a wipes packet into the square to get a crinkly feel.
I put elastic in the cord so they can be pulled and will bounce back, and they are attached to the cot with a big bit of velcro that needed a man's strength to break (yes, we tested this!). They are just a simple little thing, but they do the job!

Summer Sleep Sacks
Pattern: McCalls pattern (4236)
The pattern says to use stretch knits and the edges are finished off by turning and hemming. I decided to use cotton for the main fabric and flannelette for the lining. I also added a fabric back behind the zipper, a snap button at the top of the zipper and used bias binding to hem the sleeves and armholes.

I made some fabric letters for my friend's daughters for their birthday. The letters as 7cm tall and stuffed with a little bit of wadding.

I like the idea of my kids having something to look at when they are lying in bed so this is what I came up with. The stars are slightly different shapes and there are three clear beads on the ribbon between each star.
