Pattern: Chick and Egg by Alan Dart
I made these as part of my handmade Easter tradition. To avoid possible chick confusion, my boy's chicks have blue wings and my girl's chicks have green wings.... not coincidentally, their favorite colours.

Wheat Bags
Project: Wheat Bag with removable cover
These are good old wheat bags, ready to keep two dinosaur-loving 3 year olds toasty warm this Winter.
Because they are for kids, I made the covers removable and therefore, washable.

Cushion Covers
Project: A birthday present for Grandma
Using fabric marking crayons, the kids drew a picture of Grandma and Pop (in his ute) on linen. I then used this picture to make a pair of cushion covers for Grandma's birthday.

Wizard Things
Project: Make some things needed by a young wizard
My magical father-in-law made a wand for a young wizard. It has a button, hidden in a knot in the wood, that when pushed, lights up an LED the end of the wand. It is very cool! He wanted a case for the wand to be stored when it wasn't needed for spells.
To go with the wand and wand case, there is also a magic journal with the wizard's initial and a bag just like Hermione's in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am still working on how to add the undetectable extension charm!

Shell Purse
Pattern: Shell Purse from Nicole Mallalieu
(made as pattern test)
Another beautiful pattern from Nicole. Once again, her pattern has detailed instructions with lots of photos and helpful hints. There are several options when making the purse, giving you the choice to keep it simple or fancy it up. The frame is attached using beads, something I haven't done before, which finishes off the purse beautifully.

More Backup Bugs
Pattern: My Design
It seems my boy's love for Bug is not fading and now that he must always have 'Bug' and 'Other Bug' with him, we needed more backup bugs for when Bugs are in the wash or a Bug is "hiding". So now we have 10 Bugs living at our house.

Car Bunting
Project: To celebrate a long time coming driver's license
After a long time, my sister got her license today and she was most pleased with herself. To help celebrate, we made this car bunting for her. I drew and coloured in the cars. My girl drew the drivers, one of whom was her newly licensed aunty!

Repaired: Girl's Dress
Repaired: Girl's Dress
I got this in a "Fill a Bag for $5" at a market. When I got home, I found it had a few stains right in the centre front. Despite lots of attempts, I couldn't remove the stains but as the dress still had lots of wear left, I cut a piece out that had all the stains on it and replaced it with a black band.

Man's Wallet
Pattern: 27 Pockets Wallets Sewing Pattern by Nap Kitten
I used this pattern to make all the parts but changed the overall layout so it was just what it's owner wanted. I procrastinated over making this wallet forever and shouldn't have - it was really enjoyable to make and the finished product is great. I see more wallets in the future.....

Notebook Cover with Drawing
Project: Personalised Notebook Covers
I asked my nieces to draw a picture of their mums, which I then embroidered onto a notebook cover for my sisters' birthdays.

Bag of Worries
Project: Make a Bag of Worries to go with the book, The Huge Bag of Worries
This is an awesome book, showing that sharing your worries is much better than keeping them to yourself.
